What are the similarities and differences between vector and raster graphics and how are they used in graphic design?-Raster graphics and vector graphic are two very different types of graphics used in photo shop. Raster graphics deal with pixels. They have a specific number of pixels and it does not matter if you enlarge the picture because it will stay the same sharpness. Vector graphics on the other hand do not deal with pixels and therefore can get blurry if they are not at their certain resolution. Although they are different both graphic are very useful for designers. If they want a sharp pic they can use the raster graphic and if they are looking for a blurrier look then the vector graphic comes in handy. 2. How is Adobe Illustrator similar to and different from Adobe Photoshop? -Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop are both two very useful programs. Adobe Photoshop is mostly used for enhancing and editing photos. While Adobe Illustrator is used for logos and other professional things. The very cool thing about Adobe Illustrator is that the pictures do not blur because they are raster graphics and stay the same hardness. Also in Adobe Illustrator you are able to click on a specific point of an item, while in photoshop you would have to select the whole item. 3. How are logos a form of visual communication for the business, organization, or product they represent? -Every business needs a logo in my opinion. Logos are a form of visual communication for the business, organization, or product because I believe that a logo describes what the business is about and gives the customer a change to get to know the business better just for the logo. Logos describe to people what the business is all about. They are the key to a business and that is why logo's have to be customer friendly and interesting in order to pull the customers in. I also believe that by looking at a logo you can also catch a glimpse of the owners personality because a logo reflects their thoughts and interpretations about the business. |

1.How are Hollywood black & white photos both similar and different today from throughout history?
-Hollywood's old black and white photos were very beautiful. They are similar to today's pictures because throughout history the artist were both using the black and white effect. Although they differ because throughout history technology has developed. Back then the tools were limited, while today the artist can do almost everything he desires to the photos.
2.Why are Photoshop tools & effects used to transform portraits?
-Photoshop has many different tools and effects available for us. These tools and effects help us transform our portraits. They give us the opportunity to change a colored picture to black and white. they allow us to play around with the brightness and contrast and add many more interesting details to our portraits. We use these tools and effects on our portraits so enhance them and to create the exact picture we have in our mind. these tools and effects on photoshop allow us to put our voice and mood into our portraits.
3.How do designers express their mood and personality through use of tools and effects?
-Photoshop has always been a program that allows the user to connect with their pictures. throughout the use of tools and effects a designer can express their mood and personality. for example if the designer wanted to express the more glamorous and mysterious side of them they can turn the picture into black and white using the tools provided by photoshop. also if the designer wanted to express a fun energetic mood through one of his picture he can easily just brighten up the colors to make it livelier. what ever your mood or personality, photoshop's tools and effects make them easy to express.
4.How do online tutorials vary in style and quality?
-There are hundreds and hundreds of online tutorials in our world today. They are all unique and vary in different things like style and quality. Online tutorials vary in style because in some tutorials the creator adds in their voice and personality while others just prefer to be professional. tutorials also vary greatly in quality, some creators barley put in the effort, while other spend time and effort to insure that the users will have it easy. whatever style or type you prefer, you will always find an online tutorial that best suits you.

Photo Enhancements
1) The first enhanced photo layout was for the Light brightness photo.This project was about taking a light picture and making it brighter. We had to make the picture not look washed out. I would have to say the tool that i pretty much used on the whole project as the brightness adjustment tool that is under the image adjustment menu. I think the most successful thing that i did in this project was how i took the boring colors that looked washed out and edited them by making the colors brighter which made the overall picture just so much prettier.

1) My second layout was the Dull color photo enhancement layout. The goal of this project was to take a dull looking picture and make it more lively. The colors on my photo were very dull and looked depressing so the point was to fix that. I learned to use many tools under the image adjustment menu. The tool i used the most was the brightness tool. I think the most successful thing i did in this project was that i added more colors to the picture which made it look less dull.

1) The last layout i did was the low contrast photo enhancement layout. This project was about trying to make the focus of the picture stand out. I used many different tools for this project, but the one tool that i found most useful was the color balance tool that is found underneath the image adjustment menu. I have to admit this was the most difficult layout out of all three layouts, but in my opinion i has very happy that i made the rainbow in my picture stand out and i think that is the most successful thing i have done.

"Big Idea" of Graphic Design
1. a)Where do we see graphic design?
We see graphic design everyday. Graphic design is everywhere. We see forms of graphic design from the moment we open our eyes to the moment we close them. Their are examples of graphic design on our toothpaste tubes, on our juice box, on our phones. Even outside of the house we see graphic design, like on our way to school on billboards and advertisements.
b)What are various forms of graphic design?
There are many different forms of graphic design. Graphic design is a very interesting thing so we see in types of logos sometimes. We also see graphic design in advertisement forms. Graphic design is also in movies and pictures and many forms like web design and animated design.
c)What tools are used to create graphic design?
There are many tools that you can use to create graphic design. in my opinion the most popular and useful tool is Adobe Photoshop. You can also hand draw graphic designs (ex.logo). And for simpler things you can always you the basic Paint program on windows.
